The Claw Chair is a study in controlled wildness. CNC-cut from birch plywood, the side profiles are carved into sweeping talon forms at once aggresive and playful, conjuring the grip of a bird of prey frozen mid-clutch. The arc of the seat frame echoes this tension: a single generous curve that cradles the body while the dark leather backrest grounds the piece in warmth and utility. What appears purely sculptural reveals itself as quietly functional. The ladder rungs spanning the arched base double as a magazine rack and bookshelf—a built-in repository for the objects that accumulate around a reading chair. The dowel pegs punctuating the claw profiles serve a dual purpose as well, as structural anchors that also act as casual hooks for a throw, headphones, or a bag. Nothing is decorative without also being useful.
